Simon Taylor

Dr Simon is Project Leader for the Local Economic Development unit at the Graduate School of Business and Leadership, UKZN

He is responsible for the EDTEA-UKZN 2016-2020 LED project to promote economic development at local government level through research projects and capacity building of government officials at local government level. Currently has a research project in developing a Low-Cost Aquaponics model to address issues of food security, and climate change mitigation. Actively involved in supporting the sustainability of social enterprises through the Champions and CREATE programme.

Education: PHD (Ethics, Sustainability and Leadership) Rhodes University, Masters Geography and Environmental Education.

  • Mission Antarctica- (Climate Change project),
  • EU –SA capacity building project with National Treasury

  • Teaching Roles: Leads and lectures on the Post Graduate Diploma in Local Economic Development and MBA at UKZN.
