    Luvuyo Rani is an award-winning South African social entrepreneur, educator, and the co-founder of Silulo Ulutho Technologies, a pioneering enterprise focused on empowering communities through digital skills, education, and entrepreneurship. With a mission to bridge the digital divide in underserved townships and rural areas, Luvuyo has dedicated his life to unlocking opportunities for those excluded from the mainstream economy.

    A former high school teacher turned visionary entrepreneur, Luvuyo started Silulo in 2004 with a single internet café in Khayelitsha. Today, Silulo has grown into a nationally recognized social enterprise operating over 40 digital hubs across the country. These centres serve as access points for digital literacy training, business incubation, and employment pathways—impacting thousands of youth, women, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

    Luvuyo is a passionate advocate for inclusive development and has been widely recognized for his leadership, including being named one of the Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur. He has also received honorary accolades such as the Junior Chamber International’s Top Outstanding Young Person in the World (TOYP) award

    He is a member of several global and regional networks championing social innovation, including Catalyst 2030, Africa Forward, and TBN Africa. Luvuyo also serves on advisory boards and regularly speaks at international forums on digital inclusion, education, and social entrepreneurship.

    Driven by purpose and rooted in community, Luvuyo Rani continues to be a trailblazer in using technology and innovation to create meaningful, scalable impact in South Africa and across the African continent.
