Sarika Pruthi is a Professor at the Lucas College & Graduate School of Business, San Jose State University (SJSU), California, where she teaches introductory and advanced courses in entrepreneurship and international business. Sarika’s research is in the areas of immigrant entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and venture capital/ private equity finance. Her work appears in top peer-reviewed journals including the Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Business Review, International Journal of Management Reviews, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, and Strategic Management Journal, among others. Recently, she has published a textbook Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation, commissioned by SAGE Publications.

Sarika has held several leadership roles including program co-chair, Teaching & Learning Conference at the Academy of Management (TLC@AOM). Currently, she Sarika serves as an editorial board member of the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies and, as Director, HonorsX, a transformative interdisciplinary learning program centered on the cause of equity and social justice that she co-founded at SJSU.

Sarika has received several awards and honors for her work, including the ‘extremely competitive’ Weir-Galm Award, Master Teacher Awards for exemplary teaching, and 2022 and 2023 Best Reviewer Awards at the Academy of International Business. In 2022, she was recognized for outstanding service to TLC@AOM and selected to receive the Distinguished Teacher Award at the College of Business, SJSU. In 2023, she earned a nomination to the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Honors society. Prior to joining SJSU, Sarika taught and researched at King’s College London, University of London, and the University of Nottingham, UK, where she also earned her MA and PhD.
