Jay Mitra is Professor of Business Enterprise and Innovation, and the Director of the Venture Academy at Essex Business School, University of Essex. As a Scientific Adviser to the OECD, he led the Scientific Committee on Entrepreneurship for the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship and the LEED Programme. He is a Visiting Professor at Leuphana University, Germany and has held similar positions at Colombia, India, China, Italy, and France. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK and heads the International Entrepreneurship Forum (IEF). He is the editor the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies (JEIEE) published by Sage and is a board member of the International Network for SMEs (INSME). He has published widely on the subject of entrepreneurship, innovation, economic and social development.
