Heitor Benfeito is the Managing Director and the Director of Corporate Development and Ventures at Critical Software in Porto, Portugal. He also serves as the Director at Portugal Ventures' Portfolio Development Division. He has more than 15 years of experience as a VC executive, having been responsible for deal flow for different Venture Capital firms and for their international activities in the USA, UK, and Germany mainly focused on supporting early-stage companies in generating and closing strategic deals: commercially, funding and M&A. Previously, he was an Investment Manager at InovCapital, the first VC fund set up in Portugal, and he has held board positions in 12 companies. Before joining Critical Ventures, he led the team of Portfolio Development at Portugal Ventures, responsible for all funding, M&A, and commercial strategic deals for Portugal Ventures and its portfolio. He participates regularly as a speaker or jury member in Venture Capital forums and conferences both in Portugal and abroad and is an Associate Lecturer at the IPAM The Marketing School in Portugal.
