PROF. DT OGILVIE

Distinguished Professor of Urban Entrepreneurship and former Dean

Dr. dt ogilvie is Distinguished Professor of Urban Entrepreneurship, Former Dean, and Founder of the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship (CUE) at Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology. She is formerly Professor of Business Strategy & Urban Entrepreneurship at Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick. There she was Founding Director of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) and Founding Director of the Scholarship Training and Enrichment Program (STEP). She was appointed Honorary Professor of Beijing Information Science and Technology University in 2013, served on the International Advisory Committee at Beijing Jiao Tong University’s School of Economics and Management, named a Foreign Expert by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China, and serves on School of Business Advisory Committee at Hong Kong Baptist University.

She is an IC² Global Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin, a CUEED Fellow at Rutgers University, an International Advisory Board member of the Eastern Academy of Management International, and a membre du Directoire de la Société Africaine de Management (SAM).

Dr. ogilvie has published in top journals and five of her research papers received awards. Her research interests include strategic decision making, complexity theory, and using creativity to enhance business and battlefield strategic decision making; executive leadership strategies of multicultural women executives; women in the executive suite; entrepreneurship in China; and entrepreneurship and economic development of urban cities.

She has been involved in the PhD Project since its founding in 1994 as mentor, workshop creator, and speaker, and as PhD Project Management Doctoral Students Association (MDSA) faculty advisor. She serves on the PhD Project Deans Advisory Board, was recognized with the Spirit Award by the MDSA, inducted into the PhD Project Hall of Fame, and recently received the Trailblazer Award from the MDSA.
